H1N1 (Swine Flu) Vaccinations (update 27/11/09)

A limit amount of vaccine is now available. Patients in at-risk groups will be recalled by the practice for vaccination.

Antiviral Collection Points (update 27/11/09)

From Sunday 29th November the Central library will no longer operate as an Antiviral Collection Point and will be replaced on Monday 30th November by the new Chelmsley Wood Library, Bosworth Drive, Chelmsley Wood, B37 5EX. Opening hours Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 2pm. Please note the library is only able to accept unique reference numbers issued by the National Pandemic Flu Service and not vouchers.

From Monday 30th November there will be 6 designated pharmacies. Please note the pharmacies marked *** will be able to accept both vouchers issued by GPs and unique reference numbers (URNs) issued by the National Pandemic Flu Service and the pharmacies in normal type are only able to accept vouchers:

All patients should be advised to send a flu friend to one of the designated pharmacies with thevoucher or form and identification for the patient and the flu friend

H1N1 Information (Swine Flu) (updated 29/07/09)

Patients who have flu like symptoms are asked NOT to come to the surgery.
There is now a new National Flu Service Telephone Line for ADVICE for patients who think they may have Swine Flu.

A national flu service website has been set up - www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu
The aim is to relieve the workload from the GPs and to have a central dispensing service for antivirals.
Patients should call this number rather than their GP.
The National Flu Service will assess each case and decide if antivirals are necessary.
If antivirals are prescribed they must be collected from an Antiviral Collection Point.
Collection points are open 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.
For patients who have difficulty accessing the National Flu Service, they are advised to contact their GP. Please call the surgery and the receptionist will arrange a telephone consultation with your doctor.
